A recording of the heart's electrical activity
Small sticky sensors are placed on the chest, arms and legs and the machine records the heart's rhythm for about a minute. It is painless and takes around 10 minutes including preparation. It helps to look for rhythm problems, a past or ongoing heart attack and strain on the heart. The doctor reads the tracing and explains the result.
