Assessment and control of nosebleeds
Most nosebleeds come from small vessels at the front of the nose and are not serious. The doctor finds where the bleeding is coming from, stops it with pressure, a dressing or a small cautery, and looks for causes such as dry air, allergy or high blood pressure. Avoid picking or blowing the nose hard for a few days afterwards.
