Clearing blocked ears
Wax that blocks the ear can cause muffled hearing, fullness or itching. The doctor looks into the ear and clears the wax by gentle suction, a small instrument or syringing, sometimes after a few days of softening drops. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Mild dizziness or a short ringing afterwards is common and settles quickly. Tell the doctor if you have ever had a perforated eardrum or ear surgery.
