Ear pain, discharge, itching or a blocked feeling can come from an infection of the outer or middle ear. The doctor examines the ear canal and eardrum, may clean the canal, and prescribes drops or medicines as needed. Keep the ear dry until advised. Come back if pain, fever or discharge continues, or if hearing changes.
