Examination of the ear, nose and throat
A first visit or review with an ENT specialist. The doctor asks about your symptoms and history, then examines the ears, nose and throat with an otoscope, a headlight and, where needed, a small mirror or a thin camera. Most consultations take 15 to 30 minutes and no preparation is needed. Bring any earlier reports, scans or hearing tests. You will leave with a diagnosis or a plan for tests, medicines or a procedure.
